Danas su u Samuel Goldwyn Theateru u Beverly Hillsu predsjednik Akademije, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, redatelji J.J. Abrams i Alfonso Cuarón te glumac Chris Pine predstavili nominacije za Oscare. Ponajviše nominacija, točnije njih čak 9, imaju filmovi „Birdman“ i „The Grand Budapest Hotel“ koji sudeći po IMDB-u doista zaslužuju ovakav broj nominacija. Nakon njih, 8 nominacija zaslužio je film „The Imitation Game“, a 6 nominacija imaju filmovi „American Sniper“ i „Boyhood“. Ako ponovno sudimo po IMDB ocjenama filmova, začuđujuće malo nominacija pripalo je filmu „Interstellar“ koji trenutno ima najvišu ocjenu od svih nominiranih filmova. 87. dodjela Oscara koja ne bi postojala bez Akademije filmskih umjetnosti i znanosti (AMPAS), održat će se 22. veljače 2015. godine (po našem vremenu u noći s nedjelje na ponedjeljak) u poznatom Dolby Theatreu u Hollywoodu. Akademija je počasne Oscare dodijelila već u studenom prošle godine i to Jean-Claudeu Carrièreu, Hayaou Miyazakiju i Maureen O’Hari a te „Jean Hersholt“ humanitarnu nagradu Harryju Belafonteu.
Domaćin ovogodišnje dodjele Oscara bit će poznati glumac Neil Patrick Harris i to po prvi puta. Svakako je pred nama još jedna uzbudljiva oskarovska noć s gotovo nepoznatim ishodom i niza oklada.
